Lankelma shortlisted for GE Award for innovation in cone penetration testing
Tuesday, February 28th, 2017
Lankelma has been named a finalist in the Equipment Innovation category at this year’s Ground Engineering Awards, for the company’s work in developing better ways to gather high quality geotechnical data for engineering design.
Lankelma Managing Director Eric Zon, said: “Having won the Ground Investigation Specialist Investigation Award in 2015, we understand the importance of the Ground Engineering Awards and the high regard in which they are held.
“Being shortlisted for our innovation in cone penetration testing is fantastic news: we have built a global reputation for our innovative approach to CPT. Recent innovations include a new way to improve pore pressure measurement reliability in soft soils; the lubricating module, which allows stiff clays to be tested at twice the depth than ever before and a more accurate alternative to conventional downhole seismic testing, enabling elastic soil parameters to be derived at shallow depths.”
This year saw a record number entries and editor Claire Smith said: “The entries to the GE Awards never cease to amaze me – and this year is no exception. The number and quality of entries this year means that just getting onto the shortlist is a real achievement in itself.”
Finalists will attend judging by members of the 49-strong jury, made up of clients, contractors, consultants and academics. The awards will be presented at a special ceremony on 5 July 2017 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
