Clearing the way at Avonmouth
Monday, May 8th, 2017
Lankelma, working for WML Consulting, carried out four CPTs to 22m – three inside a building – to gather geotechnical information and to demonstrate the site was clear of buried ferrous objects.
“The combination magnetometer cone incorporates a mag detecting element that sits behind the cone tip, friction sleeve and pore pressure filter,” said Lankelma Technical Manager Joe Hobbs.
“This effectively halves site investigation time because the geotechnical profile can be provided at the same time as detecting buried ferrous objects, such as tanks, drums, pipes or unexploded ordnance, within a 1.5m radius, depending on ground conditions.”
Senior Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineer at WML Consulting Samantha Seddon, said: “Lankelma delivered a very efficient and cost-effective service. There was great communication from the team all the way through the project: from fee proposal to reporting.”
