Lankelma CPT Limited has recently been requested by Geodelft, as part of the CONVURT Consortium, to investigate the vibration radiation from underground railways and the possibilities of reducing these vibrations to perform dual seismic CPT tests in Regents Park, London.

The seismic cone is a specialist tool, which incorporates a dual seismic cone with the triple element geophone separated by either a 1.0m or 0.5m.

The advantage of this cone is that it incorporates a standard piezocone on the tip so the seismic testing and the CPT can be performed at the same time and minimize delays on site.

Performing these tests enables a full soil profile to be obtained, together with interpreted Shear modulus values Gmax, Undrained Shear Strength and relative density values of the soil.

This work will add to the range of projects performed with Geodelft and takes advantage of the specialist cones available in today's market.
