Environmental CPT in Europe

Geo-environmental characterization of contaminated sites in the UK is based on boreholes and laboratory testing.  Increasingly we are seeing the need for more information at less cost – and interest in ‘continuous’ probing techniques is rising.

At the moment the USA is one of the leaders in environmental probing and Lankelma in the US is looking to bring this expertise to the UK and the rest of Europe.  Our 10th anniversary seminar is a unique opportunity to meet with one of our experts, see some of the equipment and assess the process for your next project.

Mike Fraser, Lankelma ESCS Inc

With 15 years of experience with the MIP (membrane interface probe), Mike Fraser’s main interest is in the continued development of various MIP/CPT hybrid configurations which combine Geoprobe’s MIP system with the Vertek FFD (fuel fluorescence detector), the Vertek Cone Sipper and DAKOTA Technologies’ UVOST (ultra violet optical screening testing) system for a comprehensive evaluation of contaminated sites.

In 2001 Mike was one of the co-founders of Nedatek inc, New York, offering rapid site assessment and environmental characterisation. In 2004 Nedatek was purchased by Precision Assessment Technology Corporation, an environmental characterisation company operating throughout the US and Canada . Mike was involved with Precision’s Direct Sensing Division until joining Lankelma ESCS in 2010.
