The United Kingdom has a wide variety of ground conditions, often changing over very short distances. Certain regions offer more suitable sites than others for the push installation of vertical ground source heat exchangers. Our map gives a general guide to the suitability of regions across the UK. The red areas have fewer apt sites, typically due to rock strata at shallow depths. We can provide a rapid desk study assessment of a particular location or arrange for a ‘trial push’ to confirm the ground conditions.
