Pipeline installation
 
Lankelma took part in a large UXO survey by magcone at the Isle of Grain.  The works were performed for a proposed pipeline installation between the Isle of Grain and Shorne.
  
 
Combined CPTs & magcone tests
 
The works consisted of 98 magcone tests to 3m depth.  The shallow surface tests were performed as part of a pipeline clearance exercise, with tests being performed as combined CPTs and magnetometer tests to provide simultaneous geotechnical data for design purposes. 
  
 
Borehole locations
   
A further 75 magcone penetration tests were performed to depths of up to 15m below ground level to clear borehole locations prior to drilling operations.  The tests were performed using Lankelma’s track truck, which enabled efficient travel between test groups and effective negotiation of variable terrain.
