Assistant Electronics Instrumentation Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Electronics Instrumentation Technician. Assisting the Instrumentation Engineer, the successful candidate will work as part of a small, friendly and hardworking team.
Candidates will ideally have completed level 3 NVQ diploma or BTEC in electrical and electronic engineering. If unqualified, the candidate will have experience in a similar role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Calibration and service of instruments
  • Cable making and wiring
  • Quality and system checks and diagnostics
  • Assist with elements of Research & Development
  • Organise the calibration schedule with the Operations and Logistics Coordinator
  • Work with the Projects team to mobilise of equipment
  • Liaise with field staff to help with technical queries and provide support

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • An understanding of electronic principles
  • Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams
  • General use of electronic test equipment including digital multi-meters (DMM)
  • Soldering to a competent level
  • CAD experience would be desirable
  • Consistent quality of work
  • Fine attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Patience is required when calibrating instruments and a steady hand
  • Able to work well on own initiative and in a small team environment
  • Good work ethic
  • Tidy/organised/methodical

Core hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00
